SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH

Captain Jet's name is Bill Marcroft. Captain Jet was one of his first TV gigs circa early 60's. The show was sponsored by the Keds competitor Red Ball Jets shoes. They had a red dot on the back like Keds had a blue label). Hence the name, Captain Jet. It was just a cartoon show with very little, if any, in the way of skits. Bill didn't do it for very long and his main job at KUTV was as their long time sportscaster (up through the early 90's). He was also the radio play-by-play announcer for the University of Utah football and basketball games and known as The Voice of the Runnin' Utes.
