| Cousin Pogo and Calvin Kiwi
Above is a picture of Pat Kettlesen as Cousin Pogo with his friend Calvin Kiwi taken in the mid-fifties I directed his show on KRBC-TV in Abilene, TX. When his show had been on the air for about six months, Gandy's Dairies of San Angelo sponsored a show, Gandy's Bid 'N Buy, and Pat and Calvin were the hosts. Gandy's had been trying for years to get their products into major supermarkets in Abilene to no avail. Parents, collecting milk carton tops for their kids to bid on some really nice premiums on the show, demanded that stores in Abilene carry Gandy's products, and soon shelves were well stocked with Gandy's products. I have no idea where Pat is today, if he is still alive. If anyone out there knows the answer, please CLICK HERE to email me!. James Hallmark

No-No the Clown![]() Above - perhaps a picture of No-No? Here's another memory of channel 16: No-No the Clown. I don't remember too much about the show, except that he used to air Dick Tracy cartoons during the program. I was on it once, along with several of my friends from the neighborhood (League City, so the station was very close to us). -Roger No-No the Clown -- Ralph Ehntholt -- was the kindest and sweetest man I ever knew. He really did love kids. Sadly he passed away about the year 2000. My sister and I loved the No-No the Clown show. We discovered the show when we moved to our new house in 1968 and had our first roof mounted antenna for our giant RCA console TV/stereo which I still have in my den. No-No must have aired about 2:30 or 3:30 weekday afternoons. I got out of school at 2pm and after the 10 mile school bus ride down all the gravel roads in west Houston, it was past 2:30 by the time I got home, hot and dusty. After some purple Kool-Aide and some Nilla Wafers, it was time for No-No. It seems his costume had a collar that he would flip up over his face when he said something funny. We liked him better than Bozo because he talked to the children in a less creepy tone of voice. KVVV Channel 16 vanished around 1969 to 1970. I remember No-No The Clown in tears signing off.
