06/16/2009 ... Sandy's fan Brian Carlson provides shots of Sandy's Duluth location as it is today in 2009
Great site!
One of Duluth Sandy's locations was on Grand Ave. in west Duluth, near Denfeld High School. I remember that it was converted to Hardee's in '73 or so.
As it turns out I was able to visit the location on 6/14/09 and take pictures!
Sadly, the original building is long gone. There is a newer Arby's store on the far end of the property, right next to a house. This leads me to believe that the Sandy's building was located on what is now the rather large Arby's parking lot. The clock tower in the background of one of the pictures is that of Duluth Denfeld High School, which provides some perspective (and hopefully will jog some memories out there!)
