Sandy's Garland, Texas

Sandy's Garland, Texas

Thanks for the confirmation of what I have always thought was a Sandy ’s building. I took pictures yesterday, and although the wooden beams have been painted over, they are still there. The intersection is Garland Road and Avenue B in Garland, Texas. Thanks again for helping me to remember a brief moment of the past that still has a special place in my memory.

Sincerely,

Jim Koch

07/21/2008 ... Special thanks to Sandy's fan Jim Koch who provided these terrific pictures of Sandy's Garlad, Texas location! Sandy's in Garland was not listed on the 1968 official list of Sandy's nor was it listed on the 1973 final list. Most likely it opened after the 1968 list was printed in early 1968. It may or may not have been a Sandy's when the flip-over began in 1973 from Sandy's to Hardees. It may have changed into something else before the change happened. In any case, Sandy's Garland location was known as one of the "lost Sandy's" until Sandy's fan Scott Parks provided information that Sandy's did indeed have a Garland location at one time. How incredible that the building still exists and that Jim Koch even captured the Sandy's plaid on the side of the building!!!! A few changes and this Sandy's is ready to go!!!!

Outstanding!!!
