Sandy's #140 was located at 501 Huff Street, Winona, Minnesota. It was one of the 10% of all Sandy's that did not become Hardees in 1973 when the buy-out occurred!

My dad went to grad school in Winona, Minnesota from 1974-1976 and as a grade schooler, I used to ride my bike to Sandy’s—which was on Huff Street. Sandy’s was so yummy! I would buy my little brother a burger and fries and I loved the fish sandwich. I remember over the years telling others about Sandy’s but no one seemed to know what I was talking about—they missed out! Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Hi there. I just happened to come across your page as I was looking for old pictures of Winona MN. My search brought me to your page and I was caught by the picture of an old Bucky’s. There was most certainly one in Winona across the street from Winona State University on Huff Street . I was young when it turned from a Bucky’s to a place called Café L.A. , my guess was about 1987. The reason I remember it so well is because I had an older brother that worked at Bucky’s, so we ate there more than regularly. I can try to get more information for you, but that is what I can tell you right now. Good memories……
